A World-renowned ATO
Cambridge Aero Club is one of the few UK-based flying schools to be awarded (ATO) ‘Approved Training Organisation’ status by the UK (CAA) Civil Aviation Authority.
In 1929, the opening of Marshall Aerodrome at Fen Ditton marked the dawn of a unique journey through aviation history. The Marshall Flying School was established soon after in 1930 and later became known as Cambridge Aero Club. A private flight school with decades of experience in training those who want to learn to fly, or undertake advanced training, we remain part of the legendary Marshall company that is still considered an icon in the world of aviation.
Located at Cambridge Airport, Cambridge Aero Club has access to exceptionally well-maintained runways and full ATC. All combined with our well-maintained Cessna fleet, we are the popular choice for local and international students and visitors.

Equipped with private and commercial flying backgrounds, Cambridge Aero Club flying instructors know all there is to know about training new starters to achieve their PPL or assisting qualified pilots to advance their training to the next level.
We offer everything; from beginner ground school courses in affiliation with our online partners, tailored flight briefings through to advanced flight training such as night rating, instrument rating, CBIR, IMC, differences training on various aircraft, and much more.

All our aircraft meticulously maintained in Cambridgeshire by light aircraft specialists with no expense spared. Our varied fleet consists of four impeccably refurbished Cessna 152’s, two Cessna 172’s (both digital and 'steam gauges') and our modern-equipped Cessna 182.
